For most people the term ‘Manga’ would be relatively new. What is manga really? Well, to put it simply , manga is a type of comics. But it’s not like those western comics like Spiderman, Batman, X-men and so on. Manga is a form of comics that has its own style which originated in Japan in the late 19th century. It has a long and complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art.
Manga has shook the world of comics by gaining significant fans in Europe, Korea and the Middle East where the market is worth $250 million. In 2008, the U.S. and Canadian Manga market was at $175 million and markets in France and the United States were about the same size. Since the 1950s, Manga has become a major part of the Japanese publishing industry representing a ¥406 billion market in Japan in 2007 and ¥420 billion ($5.5 billion) in 2009
Manga includes a broad range of genres such as action-adventure, romance, sports and games, historical drama, comedy, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, horror and many more. It allows a broader category to work with than any other type of comics. Instead of having one hero that fights over many evil; Manga usually shows teamwork as the hero. It shows the pain and suffering of people while they train hard to develop themselves. The really fantastic thing about manga
is that the characters are portrayed very realistically .One might wonder if they really do exist.
Though most of the things in manga are unrealistic. The modern generation can use it as a means to show off their talents and express their feelings. Every manga has its own story to tell. They are like a big and interesting book illustrated in the form of art. Manga explores human emotions. It indirectly teaches people to live in harmony and also gives full time entertainment. It can be read by people of all ages. So, I think it is one of the best ways of entertainment and suggest that everyone should read it too.
